Fairbanks firefighters responded to a fire at the Fairbanks Solid Waste Facility on Sunday morning.

The Fairbanks Firefighters Union posted a photo of the fire on Facebook around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, showing what appears to be multiple cars engulfed in flames.

The facility, 455 Sanduri St., was closed at the time.

Shortly before 11 a.m., the Firefighters Union gave an update that the fire was under control and an overhaul would be starting at the site.
