FAIRBANKS — The Fairbanks North Star Borough animal shelter is expecting to resume euthanasia services this month, animal control manager Sandy Besser said.

The shelter had suspended euthanasia services earlier this summer because of renovations at the facility. The $282,848 remodel includes the rooms where animals are euthanized, Besser said.

The pause in services at the animal shelter has meant pet owners have had to turn to their veterinarian to put down an animal, Besser said.
