FAIRBANKS — Olympic Ice Dancers Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov will perform at a special Northern Lights Ice Show, 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the UAF Ice Arena.

The duo, here for the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, has been teaching local ice skaters all week, along with guest instructors Liv Ramos and Garnet Fiordalisi.

The show features skaters from the Fairbanks Figure Skating Club performing both a group number choreographed by the ice dancers, and solo pieces. The couple will dance to R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts.”

“This is a special piece because I recently lost my mother and its very emotional for me,” said Gregory. “It tells people how to get through and move on. Everybody hurts. Everybody has their own story.”

Admission is $10.
