FAIRBANKS — The Fairbanks Grizzlies will play the San Angelo Stampede Express of San Angelo, Texas, in the first round of the IFL playoffs.

San Angelo beat the Amarillo (Texas) Venom, 60-50, Saturday night, to clinch the fourth and final home playoff spot for the upcoming Intense Conference Playoffs.

The three division champions — Billings (12-2), Amarillo (11-3) and Arkansas (11-3) — earn homefield playoff games as does the top wild-card team — San Angelo (10-4).

The Grizzlies, who won their final three games, including a 42-33 victory against the Colorado Ice on Friday night at the Carlson Center, finished fifth at 9-5, the best regular-season record in franchise history.

The league has yet to announce dates and times for the first round of the playoffs. An announcement is expected early this week.

Virginiafans I like your way of thinking. Not to mention the Nice Young Man you have raised.I would like to thank the parents of all these young men & women. We sure seem to have some great young people playing & working in the Grizzly Org. Hey Grizz fans we should see if we can start some kinda fund for these folks,to see if we could fly them up so they can watch their kids play in front of the home crowd & see what a great impact they are having on the kids of our community.. I would pitch in a hunda or two.. Not talking every player's parents, maybe some type of lottery or something...

We have been having a hoot watching the games here in Virginia. Our son Nick #65 plays and we are expecting them to play the finial game in Richmond, VA so we can go and watch it.

This game, IF, is certainly a lot different from College football even if the B2 coverage leaves much to be desired. I certainly can't fly to Fairbanks for the cost of an internet ticket.

DGM,my boy,two grandaughters & neices are my favorite people to take to the games.I think they like to get Loud & not being told to quiet down.Plus I know they love getting down on the field afterwards & running around, usually throwing a ball or a frisbee they caught during the game. I don't know how accessiable the Stampede Express are after the game, but the young men & women(dance team) from the Grizzlies are absolutely wonderful with the children here.(hope it is the same there) I don't think the kids have anything they have ever worn to the games that don't have signatures all over it. As long as they keep catering to the kids the way they do,they could go 0-14 & I would still keep my 4 season tickets. I would have loved to have had something like this in Fairbanks when I was a kid in the 70's .(never been much of a hockey fan)even though the wife twist my arm to go to a few Nooks & Ice Dawgs games a year.Which I'm starting to enjoy more & more.(think it has something to do with knowing some of the kids on those teams). I hope you and your grandaughters have a wonderful time together at the game.We will be watching on the b2 network accessed thru goIfl.com. Might tell your son he can order it for $7 & maybe get to catch a glimse of you guys. Of course you would be alot easier to spot if we expressed mailed you down a Grizz. jersey. (Ha ha).Seems them jersey's have been poppin up at our away games this year. Thanks in advance for giving our guys a holler or two & again enjoy your evening with your grandaughters(they grow up so fast)

Well if the griz play san angelo that means they are seeded 5th overall. Hope for a loss by 2 of the top 3 seeded teams and with a griz win... homeward bound baby!!

Bumpo I believe two of the top seeded teams would have to lose, then the two teams left with the best reg. season records would get to host the second round,,I think this is how it works.. You may be able to find out more info at www.goIFL.com...

GOOD LUCK GRIZZLIES...........................
