Joshua Don Walls, a 22-year-old specialist assigned to Fort Wainwright’s Stryker brigade, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree felony theft. As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, 42 other counts of felony theft, fraud and forgery were dismissed.
If he successfully completes 18 months of probation, the conviction will be taken off his record.
Authorities said Walls went into the lockers of two men last month at Chena Hot Springs Resort and stole a wallet, credit cards and vehicle keys.
He then went to the vehicles of one of the men and stole $1,500 worth of electronics and snowboarding equipment and a third credit card.
Walls began using one of the cards the next day, racking up $2,600 in charges at Wal-Mart, Safeway, Fred Meyer, a gas station and fast-food restaurants.
Alaska State Troopers were able to locate Walls by the Jeep Liberty he was seen driving to some of the stores, according to court records.
Walls, who has no prior criminal record, must turn himself in to state custody next month.

Everyone at some point in their life runs a stop light, drinks before age, or something illegal. Military or not, we are all human. I have to wonder about you though skeptic one.
I am retired military and I take offense to being likened to criminality.
"Don't ya just love the morals of the military?"

I won't hold it against him that he was a civilian for twenty years either.
That being said, there are a few skeletons in a closet somewhere with my name on them.
