RENO, Nev. - Hundreds of people lined up Wednesday for Sarah Palin's stop in Nevada on her book tour, including a dozen who braved subzero temperatures overnight to get their copy signed by the Republican they'd like to see president someday.

"We wanted to be sure to get a ticket and get her signature and meet her," said Susan Lopez of Fernley, which is about 30 miles east of Reno. "I like her because she has common sense. I think she'd be good for the country."

Michael Gabor, a former Michigan resident, drove more than two hours over the snowy Sierra from Sacramento to be among the first in line at 10 p.m. Tuesday outside the Costco, where the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate was to sign copies Wednesday night of her book, "Going Rogue."

"She has a lot of drive and dedication," said Gabor, who added that he liked the way Palin "fights for our freedom - freedom from terrorism and big government."

"She's very patriotic," added Star Smiles, who moved to Reno from the San Francisco Bay area.

Palin's book already has sold more than 1 million copies. It has topped the New York Times best-seller list for two weeks.

Ahead of the book signing, the Nevada Democratic Party urged members to join activists at a protest outside the venue to show "we won't stand for her lies about distortions about" health care reform legislation that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and others are trying to push through Congress.

Erin Neff, executive director of the nonprofit ProgressNowNevada, said Palin hyped her book this summer by "creating the myth of death panels" as a reason to oppose universal health care coverage.

"As the Senate stands poised to pass historic health reform, we cannot let a messenger of myth come into our backyard to tell us what's good for us," Neff said.

"The only thing downright evil about health care reform is the way Palin has tried to use the issue to line her pockets," she said.

Tour organizers said the first 750 people in line were assured of getting their copy of her book signed in Reno, where Palin was scheduled to be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday after a stop in Salt Lake City.

Michelle Grant surprised her husband, Daniel, with a trip to Reno from Folsom, Calif., late Tuesday night to get the book signed for his birthday.

"I told him to get the day off, but he didn't know where we were going until last night," said Michelle Grant, who likes Palin because "she is who she is."

Daniel Grant said the former Alaska governor is "a true conservative."

"I hope she'll do like Reagan and lead the Republican Party back to its roots," he said.

"Without trustworthy science"

LOL, and what would you idiots know about "trustworthy science"? Like "Sarah" telling us that we used to live side by side with live dinosaurs on an earth less than seven thousand years old?

Anybody ever remember it raining in January before 2003? no? I was born and raised here and rain in Fairbanks in the middle of January is something unheard of by me or anyone else alive now or in recent history, how is that "made up"?

Anyone that denies the obvious changes that have taken place- might as well deny that the world is round and revolves around the sun while they're at it, oh- might as well keep calling "Sarah": "governor" as well.

"those of us wanting to keep our Nation free"

How exactly is President Obama keeping our nation from being "free"?

I don't watch Glenn Beck often as I am at work during his show hours but when I have watched him, the materials he offers are shocking and I wonder where our print and electronic media are in exposing this, out of control, corrupt, bunch currently in charge at the White House and in the Halls of Congress.

November 2010 cannot come soon enough for those of us wanting to keep our Nation free and return to a smaller Government, that could at lease work once in a while.

And putting the party who passed the Patriot Act back in charge is going to get us there how, exactly?

(I created this for Prospector, Charlie, but it seems to have relevance to you as well.)

As the long list of distructive measures, by the Obama administration, and the out of control Democrats in both houses of Congress, the county is awaking.

Sarah is very timely, and very on point, with her messages of conservatism and the need to return to the basis foundations of our Nation.

The Obama Administration actions have been based on half truths, and out right lies, in issue after issue.

November 2010 cannot come soon enough for those of us wanting to keep our Nation free and return to a smaller Government, that could at lease work once in a while.
