The meetings will detail the Community Wildfire Protection plan, which is designed to protect the community from wildfire. It includes the removal of 1,100 acres of black spruce this winter at Washington Creek, the Salcha/Johnson area and south of Chena Hot Springs Road. Wood from the cuts will be offered to the public for harvest.
A Chena Hot Springs Road meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Two Rivers Elementary School. A Salcha meeting will take place 6 p.m. Thursday at the Salcha Senior Citizens’ Building, 6062 Johnson Road.
