FAIRBANKS — Vaccines for the swine flu will be given Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Lathrop High School.

All individuals may receive vaccines while supplies last, according to state officials with the Department of Health and Social Services.

The clinic will be conducted by the Fairbanks Regional Public Health Center. The center itself will not have vaccine Thursday, but is open on a limited basis for other services.

The state continues to recommend the H1N1 vaccine for these priority groups: anyone 6 months to 24 years of age; pregnant women; parents or caregivers of infants under 6 months; health care providers; and individuals 25-64 with health problems such as asthma (or other chronic respiratory diseases), diabetes or weak immune systems.

Single doses are adequate for adults and older children. Those under 10 need two doses, one month apart.

For more information and vaccine availability, call the health center at 452-1776.
