Anchorage police say man had pit bull attack girlfriend

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - An Anchorage man is accused of using his pit bull as a weapon against a girlfriend.

Police spokesman Lt. Dave Parker says in a release that 47-year-old Daemion Patillo was arrested on assault and other charges after allegedly choking his girlfriend in a fight, and then turning his pit bull loose on her.

The woman was hospitalized, where officers observed puncture wounds along with other bites and scratches on her arms and legs from a dog.

Bail was set at $6,000. Online court records did not list an attorney for Patillo, and there was no phone listing for him.

Parker says there's no indication the dog was located, and police will work with Animal Care and Control.

Why do dumb people like this have to keep causing bad reps for pitbulls. ok so they have a locking jaw big deal any dog can be mean and attack, but seems you only hear about pitbulls. i have a pit that was brough up with proper training and around small kids and has never been aggressive. sad that the dog was used as a weapon. i say uthinize the owner

O.k. - really didn't mean that, but the pit bull is ruined and needs to be euthanized and the boyfriend needs to rot in jail forever for attempted murder - if true and was done in cold blood.

No, this comment was correct. To 907pitowner, I got charged in my front yard summer before last by a pit bull (I live on 2 acres), it was with a lab, when I yelled at them to get them moving the lab started wandering off, the pit charged. If it happens again, the pit will get a .22 in the head and I'll go about my business. Don't like em nor typically the kind of people that own them.

You are right. Dog,fists,gun or knife, a weapon was used in an assault. Put the bad monkey down. The dog is the unfortunate product of a stupid useless waste of air.

Any dog that will bite a human multiple times with or without being instructed to do so deserves to be euthanized. Yes, sad for the dog, but best for all.

Too bad the perp can't be euthanized! And $6000 bail, PLEASE, what a joke. He should be charged with attempted murder. Sad excuse of a human being, and I do not think you should refer to him as a man!!
