Legislature designated school safety money for enhancements, not operations

The suggestion from Assembly Member Lance Roberts that the school district should find a way to spend about $2 million designated by the Legislature for school safety improvements on operations conflicts with the text of the bill approved by the Legislature.

The Legislature said the money is for "student safety and security enhancements."
