Poltico has an item today about a favorable reference to former Sen. Ted Stevens showing up in an unlikely place: An ad by Democrat Scott McAdams in the race for the state’s U.S. Senate seat.

Stevens himself isn’t in the ad. Nor is his name even mentioned. But there is, at the end, an Incredible Hulk necktie, something that Stevens used to wear back in Washington to warn his Senate colleagues that he was unhappy about something.

McAdams, in the ad entitled “Tie Rack,” talks about having a senator (him) who will fight for Alaska. “We used to have a senator like that,” he says at the end of the ad as The Hulk tie appears.

The Murkowski campaign disapproves of the ad, says Politico.
