The best way to beat winter in Fairbanks is to be prepared for it.

The best way to prepare for it is by checking out the Go Winter! Expo this weekend at the Carlson Center.

The expo is two days of winter prepping with more than 120 businesses offering merchandise and information to help you survive life at 40 below zero. Vendors and booths will offer information and advice on outside activities, inside activities, winter travel, university classes, home heating and fuel, car maintenance, winter gear and fashions, energy costs and more.

The expo is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Saturday and Sunday admission is $4 for adults with children under 12 admitted free. Sunday is free all day for military member and their families but ID is required. For more information, call 474-9082.
