FAIRBANKS - An armed robber made off with about $1,400 on Friday night after holding up an Airport Way pull-tab parlor, according to Fairbanks police.

The robber, described as a tall, skinny white male, entered Emerald Isle Pull Tabs at about 7:40 p.m. with a handgun. The man, who had a mask covering the lower part of his face, demanded money and fled the establishment after taking the cash.

Fairbanks police Sgt. Robert Thompson said additional details of the robbery weren’t being made public, citing an ongoing investigation.

Fairbanks police and Alaska State Troopers did an extensive search of the area near Washington Plaza following the robbery, but were unable to locate the suspect.
