Hello all, We have began our journey to Fairbanks. We left Birmingham Alabama this morning. We then traveled through Nashville, Tn. We then entered Kentucky where we stopped at the welcome center and had a pick-nic lunch. We then entered Illinois and on to St. Louis, Missouri.
In St. Louis we stopped to see the Arch. The mighty Mississippi river is still well out of her banks. Many roads were blocked and we had to park and walk.
Tomorrow we are visiting friends here in Missouri and then leaving again Monday.
Hello to all natives. I want to send my prayers to all the firefighters , and the ones from Hooper bay. I have a very special man who is from there and now is in calif. helping to fight the fires there. I just want him to know that Love him very much and i am praying for his safe return. I love you George Thomas Moses Jr. Come home safe. You are a very important and special person in my life. I just wanted you to know that. My prayers are with you all. And you all are a blessing. God Bless you all!!!!
Steve from chicago: I have never been to Fairbanks but like to watch the cam. The view I have is very limited watching the parking lot. Have been asking for different cams of fairbanks to see what it is like and I think I have something for everyone. Google Earth finally gave me the view of the News Miner building (very cool). Just have to download there veiwer and you are ready. Good Luck
Will be arriving today 7/5 around 7 Alaska time. Yes, daughter is getting married on Thurs eve 7/10, day after our wedding anniversary of 43 years. That that tells me I am getting old for sure. ha! You will be getting alot of great photos up there.12days on an rv should be fun. I love to take pics but not professionally. So I am loaded with 2 cameras only. And everything else but the kitchen sink. Good thing our daughter has a pc so I can putz on hers when I have time. Have fun.
Jackie Minnesota. This is our second trip to Alaska. We came at this same time last year for our daughter's wedding which took place at Sam and Mary Dimientieff's garden/house on the Chena River. We played with the same family today out on a sandbar on the Tanana River where the weather was gloriously beautiful. There was just enough breeze to keep the bugs away as the little ones delighted in getting muddy and dashing into the pools to wash off. Hot dogs, fruit, chips and toasted marshmallows tasted great and overhead the sky was gorgeous filled with cumulous clouds. You couldn't have asked for a nicer day!
Don't I remember that you were coming to Fairbanks for your daughter's wedding as well? And are you still here? Our daughter's mother-in-law, Irene Catalone, is lending us her RV to use for a 12-day trip through Alaska. As photographers, we are in heaven! Joanne and Jan Smith, New Brighton MN
PANOMAN- I'll keep an eye out the next time I go to Delta and se if I can find a milemarker for the mailbox.
And I can't wait to get down to Delta, where I think we'll feel more attatched. North Pole is nice enough, but we'd prefer something more rural.
I have finally seen wildlife in North Pole! Starting with my husband saying "WHOA! C'mere!" I ran to the bay window in our dining room and came face to, ahem, "rear" with a moose hiney. Momma was standing, keeing a close watch on her young'un, a fairly new calf by the looks of him. We also encountered another momma on her baby on the bike path along Richardson Hwy when we walked into town for a coffee and to get hubby a haircut. You can read the details (particularly how a city girl felt about this close encounter!LOL) on my blog:
North Pole Festival was fun today, but HOT and I got nibbled on by one of these beetles everyone keeps talking about. Didn't hurt too much, but sure surprised me. Finally have everything unpacked and when hubby returns from work after the weekend, we are going exploring... chena hot springs, denali, maybe even a trip to Valdez in the near future, etc
Hello all, Happy 4th of July! I have not participated on this sight by posting a comment, however I have visited daily since 11/06 when as a Travel Nurse I spent 13 weeks in Fairbanks. As so many of you have experienced I left my heart in Alaska... On New Years Eve 2007 I saw (or should I say experienced)the Northern Lights for the 1st time. PanoMan, you summed it up when you stated, "We know how to be happy" when it comes to the wonderful people I met in Alaska. I have visited your web site and it is a gift to those of us who long for Alaska in our hearts...Thank you. I am located in Olympia Washington, the fireworks are just starting, and we to are blessed with a warm night, a soft breeze, and the sounds of children ooohhing and awhhing over the colors of the fireworks. For those of you in the UK I was born in Northumberland, along the North Sea, you also live in an area of great beauty. To all...Have a very happy and safe night.
Well, they are out of sight now...Headed now to North Pole then to the Salmon bake for dinner. If you are in the area, look for an RV with Texas plates and say hello to my family!!! Happy 4th!!!
Hello to all.... before you now is a group of travelers from Texas....my brother Bill, his wife Kathy, my dad Dub and mom Freddie Sue!!! they left Texas Friday 6/27....looks and sounds like they are having a blast.
Well into the 80's today. Ester just had their 4th of July parade. village size. Silly and fun. Now it has entered the wonderful picnic/pot luck phase with hundreds of happy folks sitting in any shade they can find, lots of squealing and happy kids. A real small town get together. Hardly anything better than that. A soft breeze today to make the 80's not feel so bad. Not a cloud in the sky, only our endless sunshine. There is no better place for summers than Alaska, and I think the summers here in the interior have to be the best on the planet. It is worth waiting the winter for, every year!
First Friday tonight as well, with the art galleries having their open houses. Lots going on at Alaskaland(Pioneer Park), with music and all. No fireworks though, we save that for New Years Eve. Plenty of darkness then, but if can be oh so cold! But we do it anyway. We know how to be happy. That is why we live here.
Happy 4th to all, and especially to those that wish they were here with us.
I don't know about earth . . . and maybe not even the entire USA . . . but I must admit, Alaska is right up there on the list of the greatest places on our planet.
Well.......................you all can have your opinions that's what American is all about. But after everything is said and done..........THERE'S NO PLACE ON EARTH BETTER THAN ALASKA
Exactly! Accepting the differences and opinions of each of us. That is what the day is about. We all like to think we are right in our choice of our gods, in our choice of politics, etc. And we allow for that, because we know how important it is to make room for one another in this world, and listen to and accept one another even if they are not like ourselves.
Happy July 4th to everyone here in the good ole USofA.
While like many, I too enjoy the celebration of our freedom and the democracy that is the foundation of our country, I really hope that this forum does not turn into a political forum debating foreign policy. What may be the point of view to one regardng the protection of our liberties, may be 180 degrees in direct opposition to what others may believe is necessary to protect those same freedoms.
The 4th of July, the day we told the British to take a hike, that we didn't need them telling us what to do. It just is not right for a people to have some foreign overseas government coming in and telling them what to do and how to live. Unfortunately it seems we have forgotten that lesson we realized back then.
America is great, great, nation, truly showing the world that so many different people, different religions, different races, different colors, can all live together in peace. We accept our differences very easily. I know I could move to France for the rest of my life, but I would never be accepted as a 'Frenchman'. But yet a Frenchman could move here and easily be accepted as an American, even with their funny way of talking. We would accept them into our 'family' without question.
America has lost some of it's glory in the past 8 years, and we seem to have gotten a bit off track. We seem to have lost sight of the wisdom it takes to be a great nation. The understanding it takes to be a true leader. We seemed to have forgotten what our purpose is, to be a beacon and an example for others to admire. I hope that someday we can earn some respect back from the world again, and perhaps we can learn to be as accepting of the rest of the world as we are accepting of each other. Not everyone wants or needs to be like us, as we don't need to be like them. That is true independence! I hope we not only can keep our freedoms forever, but that we can be willing to allow others theirs as well. Then we will have learned and earned our way back to what we have always should have been.
This is not a day to celebrate fighting and wars, but a day to celebrate what we have fought about. The freedom to be ourselves.
Freedom in America has always been more in jeopardy from our own government than from any foreign nation. Celebrate the individualism that July 4th represents by questioning the voices of politicians and military leaders. And if the press did its job our loss of freedoms wouldn't be so nearly so great. Happy birthday, America!
Happy Fourth everyone and may it be a safe one for you all and our soldiers.
Joanne and Jan is this your first trip up there? I know where New Brighton is of course. I live in Forest Lake just north of the cities. Looks like a warm day up there already. Hope you enjoy your stay.
Ernie, Thanks for the link to the flag drop it was wonderful, Where was it at i would like to have seen it, My daughter is on her way to FB tomorrow morning can't come this time love it there.
EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT DAY AND BE SAFE AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS IT KEEPS MY DAY GOING JUST TO KNOW I CAN'T COME ON HERE AND READ ALL OF YOU NICE COMMENT ABOUT WHAT EVER.. HARRIETT
Happy Birthday to Tina!!! Have a great day. Happy Fourth of July to all. Have a safe one. Thanks for the link to the fireworks site and the flag! Neat. I read this and thought I'd share: Regardless of our differing political views, we must - as Americans - agree to pray and be grateful for the people who put their lives on the line so the United States can remain a free nation. The cost of freedom is great. Thanks to ALL that share on this site. Have a great day.
HAPPY 4th JULY to you all. Ernie 2 great site's. We have had a duck race here in central England. place called ALCESTER near STRATFORD upon AVON. not so many ducks as you. Mick and Lynne.
We flew in from Minnesota last night; gorgeous views of the Alaska Range coming in! Hope it continues to stay nice. Went up Chena Hot Springs road tonight to get a fabulous moose picture, and all we saw were a porcupine, a rabbit and a muskrat! Stopped by the NewsMiner and checked out the parking lot across the street at the Big I; indeed, it does look better in person. There's a fenced-in corral for people to sit outside and celebrate. The rubber duckie is huge! We think we saw you waving back to us through the webcam from all over the world! Joanne and Jan from New Brighton, Minnesota

Looking pretty in Fairbanks this morning. About 20* cooler than it is here in S.E.Washington. We are getting some haze from all the wildfires in N. California. Have a Happy and Safe 4th Fairbanks. Sue Gagner - Burbank, Washington
Ernie Dofoot, thank you for that bit of information, very interesting!! it is great to be able to look at the webcam in fairbanks and see the sun shining at 11p.m. wow!! as you can gather i am not anywhere near Alaska, but i sure love watching the deadliest catch on sky t.v. the mavric has to be the best one there, and the skipper and his brother well word for them COR!!! hahahahaha!!!! great to see dutch harbour there in the link, as that is where they dock thank you, anymore good links, would love to see them. cheers mate!! someone in Ireland. yes Ireland.
Jackie You'd be amazed at how many people living in Fairbanks are from Minnisota. They claim the winters here are much easier. No wind, and it stays frozen so you don't get all the slush and wet nasty weather.
The temp looks good to me today. I am hoping its stays at least in the 70's next week. Daughter getting married in a park? near the Tanana river next Thurs. Small wedding. Stayed at the River's edge one year. Thats when daughter lived in a cabin. Nice place and the restaurant there has fantastic food. The place of Ester sounds familiar. One year we took a drive from Fairbanks to Anchorage and then to Valdez and back to Fairbanks. Alot of travelling in such short time we were there. The first year we were up there we had gone to Kennicott and stayed there. A treat from her friends and then back to Valdez to Bear Island and then fished for Salmon later. Daugher lived in Valdez for some time. Darn cool there if you ask me with the dampness but interesting area. Esp. some of the areas where we took walks and could hear rustling in the trees. Of course we left, thinking it was a moose. DAughter has been chased by a moose when she lived in her cabin and the first cabin shelived in her dog loved to chase them but the problem was that the moose would then chase him up to the cabin door. He thought they were something to play with and antagonize with his chASing. Can't wait to get up there. I wouldn't mind living up there but the winters are to cold in Fairbanks for me. They last to long.
Thanks Tammy! I thought it was in July sometime.... I remember going to the Golden Day's parade every year. We'd dress up and have so much fun there! Ahhh, the things you miss!
As for Moose....I can remember waking up one morning and having one right at our window! He didn't do anything but stand there looking....(thank God) Must have smelled mom cooking breakfast. LOL
Nope, not me on the Richardson highway. I live out by Ester, that is my area. About 5 miles west of the city off the highway that goes to Denali/Anchorage. I always find it amazing how all of us in the area find a place to attach ourselves to. I know I could never live in North Pole, or out Chena Hot Springs road, or in the city, or even out towards Fox, and those wonderful folks that do live out that way feel the same way about their places of choice. I guess something about the places we end up pulls on us and keeps us right there, only allowing a few miles of movement for possible places to live. We attach ourselves somehow to our 'home' area, and could not be happy anywhere else, even on the other side of town. Kinda funny how that happens to probably all of us. But I will have to look for that mailbox someday as I make a drive out that way.
ive lived in fairbanks...its so BEAUTIFUL...i miss it...me and my little family moved here to colorado springs last novemeber...im orginally from alaska from a little village near bristol bay
tomatoman: I think you may be referring to the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge and that would make Pike's Landing Restaraunt the eatery...have a great day!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE ITS A BEAUTIFUL DAY AND I SEE EVERYONE IS ENJOY IT THROUGH THE NEWS MINERS WEB CAM SO IAM I.. LOVE THIS SITE.. AND ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS. ITS THE FIRST THING I DO WHEN I GET ON MY COMPUTER IS GO TO THIS SITE JUST TO SEE WHAT YOU ALL HAVE TO SAY. AND THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.. HARRIETT
Oh what a beautiful morning in Fairbanks!! Just one problem. I'm not there. Everyone that is visiting and living there have a wonderful day and enjoy that beautiful weather.
Good Morning Arctic Cammers! ahhh sunshine! THE mountain is out in all its glory this a.m.(thanks miganut) and forecasts call for 75-80 today...our garden needs to dry out a bit...the recent rain is helping to stave off any local wildfires, which is a good thing with the 4th coming up...
tntmedic: good morning from the Nordale Rd area, hope your baby gets well soon...
jerseyshoregirl: have a great day in Denali but I will echo polarmarks' caution: "trouble" isnt something to look for in Denali...
Um, maybe the funniest thing to me about the weather report is how the loss of daylight minutes is reported, as gravely as someone's funeral being announced, with Ted Kopel seriousness. Maybe I'm crazy, but I see it as a GAIN of a few minutes of night! LOL
PANOMAN- do you have a place on Rich Hwy? I drove down to Delta Junction yesterday and could have sworn I passed a place with a decorated mailbox that said Panoman on it??? Of course, I was also trying to avoid a very large, very dumb moose who thought it would be nice to stand in the road and stare at me (and the cars behind me) screeching to a halt. This moose stood there and started at me for a full minute before decided she would be kind enough to let me pass.
Greetings from North Pole this morning. Fairbanks looks beautiful this morning and it looks like we'll be making the trip into town, as baby is sick and needs a doctor this morning. *sigh*
Denali sure is looking pretty this morning! JerseyshoreGirl, you should have a great day there! I'm jealous being stuck here in Jersey!!! LOL But my memories of living there are still with me and they keep me going....hopefully soon it will be me there again!
Jerseyshore, no, I don't think that was me, but I wish it had been. I guess if you're ever coming back to the webcam, you will have to send a mail the day before and let us know when you will be there, so we can all join in at that moment and and shout it out. See how many people add notes during that visit! Maybe go for the 'Guinness record' of how many notices you can get in one visit. OK, synchronize your watches. Now let us know WHEN you will be there!
Our Granddaughter Gabriella age 5 in Dec, caught her first king a 24-3/4 lb (chinook) on the "Lil Sue" at Wasilla, Alaska __ Thursday 06/26/08; She was fishing with her Dad Ron in the family boat, she had to fight the fish while Dad Ron anchored to help her boat the monster. Hi Everyone - WE BOUGHT OUR RUBBER DUCKY TICKETS - the winning tickets that is! UAF Museum was spectacular - Riverboat Discovery - just wonderful. Great ride to Denali Park - staying two days in the park - let's see what trouble we can get into there. You just never know with two blondes from NJ. By the way - was that you Panoman laughing at the tourists stuck to the wet paint and cleaning off in front of the web cam? Enjoyed your work at the New Horizon Gallery. We're off to Cabin Nite Fever tonight and conquoring Mt. McKinley tomorrow!!! Signing off for now.
Willow: WHAT?!?!? meteorology is a funny business in fairbanks...weather forecasters should report twice per year- SPRING: "Warming trend with rain for the next 4 months, see you in October..." AUTUMN: "Freezing trend with snow and ice for the next 8 months, see you in April...
A few weeks ago someone told how to find the link to an archived image . I have misplaced that information. Will someone please post the directions again? We are in Fairbanks visiting our son and wanted to pose in front of the Artic Cam and send the link to friends. Thank you for helping out. When home in Ohio I visit the Cam at least four times a week and enjoy the images and comments.
RONRAT, WE COME EVERY CHRISTMAS AND GO TO CHURCH RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE CAMERA FROM THE NEWS MINER.. WE STAY AT SPRINGHILL SUITE ACROSS THE BRIDGE.. HARRIETT
harriet, you were "younger" a long time ago.sorry i couldn't help myself. i miss alaska at times but only in the summertime. i moved to anchorage in 1954 i was 15 stayed for 22 yrs. love this site and all the great people on here. have a good day.
Good afternoon, I'm so looking forward to returning to Fairbanks..Just a couple weeks and I will be visiting Family and Friends....Fairbanks is such a beautiful place and I cant wait to see my Panik..(Daughter)
I look at the cam everyday to see what the weather is like..
mahoney, Good luck on your job I know you will love Fairbanks I know if we were younger we would have moved to Alaska along time ago.. Beautiful place . And jerseygirl you have a great time and look at everything you can you want be sorry..
Hey Fairbanks, you're a little dreary today. I just love this webcam. We had such a great time there the lst week of June. I'm already wanting to return. Someone recently mentioned the Fudgepot and I remember I was so impressed with the people there and their soup and sandwiches. Their fudge was excellent too. Everytime I look at this webcam and see the Marriot in the distance, it makes me think of looking at this cam for 4 months before we actually got to Fairbanks. And I was always wondering what was behind that hotel. Now that we stayed there for over a week, I know every inch of that place and the surrounding area. I just loved Fairbanks!! The rain actually looks inviting. It's 97 degress here in Oklahoma and we need rain.
Hi Fairbanks, hope you are having a nice day. I love this webcam and I enjoy another webcam that is fun for me to watch it is White Pass Railroad webcam Alaska. I hope I will be one of those people on the Cruise Ships getting to go on the train there. Oh what fun.
You are welcome, Waytogo. Glad to help, when I can. There are many wonderful people, more knowledgeable than myself, who give interesting, and helpful facts about Alaska. We are "rookie" residents, everything is "new" to us. AlaskaShoe
Alaskashoe, Thank you for letting me know all that. very kind of you indeed.!! hope the day there inproves for ya'll... lol.. bit of american slang there!! i know someone there i hope they do real well in the duck race.!! keep commenting Alaskshoe. !!!
Hi, Waytogo, The area of the Cushman Street Bridge, in the Arctic Web Cam view, is scheduled for road work, including realignment and a new bridge. The current businesses will close permanently, or move to new locations. Players Grill on the end has already closed, relocated, and opened under a new name. The huge duck is on the awning of the Big I, advertising the "Rubber Ducky Drop" on July 19th. People "buy" a small numbered rubber duck. 6,000 rubber duckies race for the chance to win cash and prizes. On race day, the yellow duckies are dropped from the Wendell Street Bridge into the Chena River. The numbered duckies float downstream to the finish line at the Golden Heart Plaza at the Cushman St. Bridge. To participate, look for the bright yellow signs in business windows or Goldie & Luckie the big, inflatable yellow ducks! AlaskaShoe
looking through the cam is good wish it was full time motion, anyway what is that pink looking building to the right across the road that is boarded up!!! what is that big ducky thing!!
To: Jersey Shore Girl, The painted guardrail story is priceless...Sure hope you have a great time. Don't forget to check out the "BIG I" bar and take a tour of the church across the street. If you are staying at the Marriott they have a computer room near the main desk. If you don't have a car take a ride on the local bus up to the museum.
my first time bloging . I've ben looking at cam and everyones letters. I was in fairbanks the fist of june. Now I am move up sept 15. Already have a job too.

What a great day to celebrate our freedom. Thanks to all the brave men and women that have stood up for us in our times of peril.
God bless America
Happy Fourth everyone and may it be a safe one for you all and our soldiers.
Joanne and Jan is this your first trip up there?

Happy Fourth of July to all. Have a safe one.
Thanks for the link to the fireworks site and the flag! Neat.
I read this and thought I'd share:
Regardless of our differing political views, we must - as Americans - agree to pray and be grateful for the people who put their lives on the line so the United States can remain a free nation. The cost of freedom is great.
Thanks to ALL that share on this site.
Have a great day.
Hello Fairbanks. I am cellebrating my birthday today here in London, England. I just wish i was there cellebrating with you.
HAPPY 4th JULY to you all. Ernie 2 great site's.

Hi all,
We flew in from Minnesota last night; gorgeous views of the Alaska Range coming in!
Hi all,
We made it up from Fort Worth, TX on 7/3 between 9:30 and 10 PM, but we couldn't reach anyone at home. We will try again tomorrow.
Happy Independence Day to everyone in the USA!

Ok, what's with the guy standing on the corner flashing his cardboard sign to all the passing traffic?
Is he a disgruntled employee having his own little picket walk?
I was at an Ice Skating rink here in California. The brisk air reminded me of Fairbanks in the Spring. Alaska has deeply "infected" me. LOL.
HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE AND PLEASE BE SAFE.. HARRIETT IN GEORGIA
Looking pretty in Fairbanks this morning. About 20* cooler than it is here in S.E.Washington. We are getting some haze from all the wildfires in N. California. Have a Happy and Safe 4th Fairbanks.
Sue Gagner - Burbank, Washington
Another beautiful day in Fairbanks. Raining again here in Mo.

Well, now everybody's up and moving around. Either it's just ended or it's intermission.
There's a concert going on in Golden Heart Plaza. Unfortunately the Festival Fairbanks webcam doesn't include sound.
Hey all,
We are heading out from Alabama this Saturday. We are making several stops along the way so it will be a long trip.
See ya'll in a few weeks.
WOW, Mt. McKinley is really clear today on the webcams. That and the ice is really starting to melt in Barrow.
Jackie
You'd be amazed at how many people living in Fairbanks are from Minnisota. They claim the winters here are much easier. No wind, and it stays frozen so you don't get all the slush and wet nasty weather.
Phil
logging in to say hi to down town fairbanks hellooooo !!
67 wow a heaat wave I can do 67 and enjoy it
yeah
i think that is a beer garden for the big I bar. i don't drink so i haven't stopped in there. but it looks nice live and in person as you drive by.
What is that white contraption in the parking lot across the street? Whatever it is it doesn't look too attractive from here!
Thanks Tammy! I thought it was in July sometime.... I remember going to the Golden Day's parade every year. We'd dress up and have so much fun there! Ahhh, the things you miss!
As for Moose....I can remember waking up one morning and having one right at our window! He didn't do anything but stand there looking....(thank God)
Must have smelled mom cooking breakfast.
My it does look like a beautiful morning there. I live in Hawaii but long to be in Fairbanks. One of these days I'll make it up there. Enjoy!!
JerseyshoreGirl; You might want to try the restaurant just west of the Fairbanks Lodge on Airport Rd. We ate there last May and it was great.
THE mountain is out in all its glory this a.m.(thanks miganut) and forecasts call for 75-80 today...our garden needs to dry out a bit...the recent rain is helping to stave off any local wildfires, which is a good thing with the 4th coming up...
tntmedic: good morning from the Nordale Rd area, hope your baby gets well soon...
jerseyshoregirl: have a great day in Denali but I will echo polarmarks' caution:
"trouble" isnt something to look for in Denali...
good morning all
what a beautiful stunning picture of Denali
can't wait to get there
KingFisher- was cracking up about your forecast!
*sigh*
Golden days parade is July 19th. The celebration is from July 14th to 20th. Wish I was there.
Denali sure is looking pretty this morning! JerseyshoreGirl, you should have a great day there! I'm jealous being stuck here in Jersey!!! LOL
But my memories of living there are still with me and they keep me going....hopefully soon it will be me there again!
Shouldn't the Golden Day's Parade be soon?
Denali is looking awesome today. I checked the site before coming here and saw the post. It is gorgeous with the blue skies.
Hi everyone, Denali is looking splendid at this hour.
http://www.nature.nps.gov/air/WebCams/pa...
Now let us know WHEN you will be there!

be careful in denali... getting in trouble there usually means run ins with the local fauna.
Willow: WHAT?!?!?
meteorology is a funny business in fairbanks...weather forecasters should report twice per year-
SPRING: "Warming trend with rain for the next 4 months, see you in October..." AUTUMN: "Freezing trend with snow and ice for the next 8 months, see you in April...
my advice: bring your rain gear and bug dope...
A few weeks ago someone told how to find the link to an archived image . I have misplaced that information. Will someone please post the directions again? We are in Fairbanks visiting our son and wanted to pose in front of the Artic Cam and send the link to friends. Thank you for helping out. When home in Ohio I visit the Cam at least four times a week and enjoy the images and comments.
anyone out there could help me? I would like a 30 day forcast for Fairbanks, where do I find that? thanks!
RONRAT, WE COME EVERY CHRISTMAS AND GO TO CHURCH RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE CAMERA FROM THE NEWS MINER.. WE STAY AT SPRINGHILL SUITE ACROSS THE BRIDGE.. HARRIETT

Good afternoon,

I look at the cam everyday to see what the weather is like..
Yogie
mahoney, Good luck on your job I know you will love Fairbanks I know if we were younger we would have moved to Alaska along time ago..
Rats! I missed them!
You are welcome, Waytogo.
Glad to help, when I can. There are many wonderful people, more knowledgeable than myself, who give interesting, and helpful facts about Alaska.
We are "rookie" residents, everything is "new" to us.
AlaskaShoe
woooo whooo looks like some artic cam vistors waving there umbrellas
HEY - people at the Arctic Cam right now!
HI THERE YOU GUYS!!
Alaskashoe, Thank you for letting me know all that. very kind of you indeed.!! hope the day there inproves for ya'll... lol.. bit of american slang there!! i know someone there i hope they do real well in the duck race.!! keep commenting Alaskshoe. !!!
Hi, Waytogo,
The area of the Cushman Street Bridge, in the Arctic Web Cam view, is scheduled for road work, including realignment and a new bridge. The current businesses will close permanently, or move to new locations.
Players Grill on the end has already closed, relocated, and opened under a new name.
The huge duck is on the awning of the Big I, advertising the
"Rubber Ducky Drop" on July 19th.
AlaskaShoe
Alaskan4ever - I just sent you my email address via Daily News. Look forward to comparing names from long past.
looking through the cam is good wish it was full time motion, anyway what is that pink looking building to the right across the road that is boarded up!!! what is that big ducky thing!!
To: Jersey Shore Girl,
The painted guardrail story is priceless...Sure hope you have a great time. Don't forget to check out the "BIG I" bar and take a tour of the church across the street. If you are staying at the Marriott they have a computer room near the main desk. If you don't have a car take a ride on the local bus up to the museum.
Rob
