FAIRBANKS — Even when the Arctic Bears run into a red-hot goaltender, the girls high school hockey team from Fairbanks finds a way to win.

Mat-Su Ravens goaltender Emma Denny made a remarkable 42 saves, but it wasn’t enough as the Arctic Bears skated to a 3-0 victory to remain unbeaten on the season with an 8-0-1 record.

Arctic Bears goalie Molly Brooks registered eight saves in recording the shutout.

The Arctic Bears scored the only goal they needed in the first period when Jade Meier found the back of the net off assists from Dynnea Bezona and Summer Britton.

Megan Kubichek added a second-period goal with assists from Janelle Pascoe and Erika Martin.

Zahn Thompson wrapped up the scoring for the Arctic Bears with an assist going to Bezona.

The two teams wrap up their four-game series today with games at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Patty Center.
