FAIRBANKS — The Arctic Bears girls high school hockey team from Fairbanks continued its winning ways Friday evening in Anchorage.

The Arctic Bears stretched their winning streak to four games and improved to 4-0-1 on the season with a 1-0 victory against Service/East Anchorage at Ben Boeke Arena.

Fairbanks opened its three-game road trip with a 3-1 win against Service/East on Thursday night.

The Arctic Bears complete their three-game road trip with a game against Chugiak/Eagle River this afternoon.

Courtney Cox scored the game’s only goal with 4:30 remaining in the second period. Assists were not available Friday evening.

Service had a 14-12 advantage in shots on goal, but Fairbanks goalie Sabrina Nichols kept Service off the scoreboard in recording the shutout.

After today’s game, the Arctic Bears return home to host the Mat-Su Ravens in a three-game series, Dec. 6-8, at the Patty Center.
