FAIRBANKS — The Arctic Bears girls high school hockey team from Fairbanks captured a pair of victories Saturday to complete a four-game road trip with a perfect 4-0 record.
The Bears improved to 6-0-1 on the season by defeating Chugiak/Eagle River and a 7-0 triumph against the Mat-Su Ravens on Saturday night in Wasilla.
Lisa Laiti scored two goals and assisted on another to spearhead the Arctic Bears victory against Chugiak/Eagle River. The Arctic Bears also picked up goals from Peyton Lake, Janelle Pascoe and Jade Meier.
Molly Brooks made 11 saves to earn the victory.
Holly Linder scored Chugiak-Eagle River’s only goal on a third-period power play. Goalie Arika Mercer stopped 27 shots.
Jessica Carlson scored two goals, while Jane Meier, Peyton Lake, Abigail Brice, Janelle Pascoe, Mackenzie Sylvester and Erika Martin all scored once in the win against Eagle River.
Assists went to Meier, Laiti, Carlson, Brice, Martin, Pascoe, Jenny Hughes, Jackie Lundberg and Megan Kubichek.
Brooks made six saves to earn the shutout. The Arictic generated 38 shots on goal.
The Arctic Bears host the Ravens in a four-game series this weekend, starting with a 6:30 p.m. game Thursday at the Patty Center.
