The biggest buzz in the online world is about to scare you to death.

Welcome to Fairbanks Asylum, what looks to be a one-of-a-kind, high-tech, gore fest of a haunted house just in time for Halloween. And for those of you who enjoy things that go bump in the night, you get an early chance tonight for a sneak preview of the scare that is sure to come.

Fairbanks Asylum has been building buzz online with an active Facebook page and a commercial making the rounds on YouTube. The event opens to the public Friday night, but tonight, attendees can participate in a VIP showing at 6 p.m. where they will get the first walk through.

Tickets for tonight’s VIP experience are $45 online and $55 at the door. The VIP event includes food, drinks, entertainment, photo ops with the characters, gift bags, coupons and giveaways. Fairbanks Asylum is located in Badger Hall at the Tanana Valley Fairgrounds, 1800 College Road.

Starting Friday, regular hours for the asylum will be 6 p.m. to midnight each Friday and Saturday, with the asylum also open the nights of Oct. 28, 30 and 31. More information about ticket prices and the asylum are available online at

Happy hauntings, Fairbanks.
