ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Anchorage Fire Department says firefighters pulled a person from a burning home Saturday night.

Fifteen units responded to the call of a fire at a home in the 600 block of Kim Place east of Muldoon Road near Sixth Avenue in northeast Anchorage.

Crews arrived shortly after 8 p.m. and found smoke and flames shooting out the home.

Firefighters entered and made their way through heavy smoke to a bedroom where the fire started.

They carried out one person, whose identity was not released. One other person was transported to a hospital.

Firefighters say damage was estimated at $30,000 and was confined to the bedroom where the fire started.
