ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A 27-year-old Anchorage man has been charged in federal court with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
U.S. Attorney Karen L. Loeffler says Kenneth Joel Ball was indicted for possessing a gun on May 31.
He is scheduled for trial Dec. 17.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Courter presented the case to a grand jury.
She says in the announcement of the case that Ball could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and fined up to $250,000. She says an actual sentence depends on the seriousness of the offense and the suspect's past criminal record.
