ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska State Troopers are preparing for Thanksgiving holiday patrols, when they'll be targeting impaired drivers.

KTUU ( ) says troopers will be making extra traffic stops on the lookout for drunk drivers, speeders, aggressive drivers and people not wearing their seat belts.

The effort is part of the troopers' campaign to reduce the number of fatal collisions on those causing major injuries.

During the Halloween holiday patrols, troopers issued more than 400 citations.
