FAIRBANKS - Alaska State Troopers broke up a major illegal commercial marijuana grow in Delta Junction on Friday morning.

Investigators with the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit in Fairbanks dismantled an operation that included well more than 100 marijuana plants and seized 50 ounces of marijuana.

The investigators served two search warrants at two residences.

They contacted and arrested 39-year-old Ian Miller at his Clearwater Extension residence, where investigators dismantled a 82-plant marijuana grow and seized 23 ounces of marijuana.

The second search warrant was served at a Deborah Street residence, where 60 marijuana plants were found as well as 27 ounces of processed marijuana.

Miller was charged with one count of misconduct involving a controlled substance and was transferred to the Fairbanks Correctional Center for arraignment.

According to the Trooper dispatch regarding the event, Miller likely will face additional charges when the completed case is filed with the district attorney’s office.
