Alaska Communications launches 4G service

FAIRBANKS — Alaska Communications has introduced 4G LTE wireless service to its customers, providing speeds as much as 10 times faster than current 3G networks and double the speed of some 4G networks.

The company has 4G service in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Homer, Kenai, Palmer, Seward, Soldotna, Wasilla and Whittier.

Alaska Communications has invested more than $500 million in building its wireless and wireline broadband network during the last decade, according to the company.
