Air quality alert issued in North Pole

FAIRBANKS - An air quality alert has been issued for the North Pole area.

The air in some parts of North Pole is exceeding EPA standards for particulate pollution, according to the Fairbanks North Star Borough. Weather conditions will limit dispersion of particulates through Saturday morning.

People with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly and children should avoid prolonged exertion; everyone else should limit prolonged exertion.
